Really Rad 2027 Website Plans
As 2027 approaches, our websites are ready for their next chapter. We’ll explore thoughtful Divi 5 conversions, practical ways to bring AI into our workflow, continued SEO support, and the growing role of AI chatbots in helping visitors find answers.
The goal is not change for change’s sake, but faster, more flexible sites that feel welcoming and useful to every guest. We’ll plan each step around real needs, making room for new tools while keeping the experience clear, dependable, and distinctly human.
Divi 5.0 upgrades on all websites
With the exception of Hampton Jekyll Island (Divi 5), all of our current websites run on Divi 4. Updating to Divi 5 replaces the legacy shortcode architecture with a modern, block-based system, delivering major upgrades in speed, layout control, and daily workflow.
Performance & Speed
• No Shortcodes: Eliminates Divi 4’s heavy shortcode bloat, storing data cleanly like native WordPress blocks.
• Faster Rendering: Features up to a 2x speed enhancement in front-end server rendering.
• Smaller Footprint: Reduces JavaScript/CSS file sizes and automatically generates Critical CSS for higher Google PageSpeed scores.
Design & Layout Tools
• CSS Flexbox & CSS Grid: Replaces older padding- and float-based alignment with native Flexbox and CSS Grid for precision layout control.
• Global Variables & Presets: Manages site-wide font sizes, spacing, and colors using stackable presets and relative HSL color systems.
• More Breakpoints: Expands responsive design controls up to 7 customizable breakpoints.
• Dedicated Heading Module: Replaces the generic text module approach for headings with a dedicated module tied directly to style variables.
Builder Interface & Workflow
• Command Center: Introduces a fast search-and-command overlay to navigate options and settings instantly.
• Redesigned Workspace: Offers a customizable interface with light and dark modes, auto-saving settings, dockable side panels, and a clear Layers Panel.
• Canvases Editor & Loop Builder: Streamlines template and dynamic content creation.
AI is great, but SEO & Keywords still matter!!
Yes, keywords and SEO still matter in 2027, though their role has shifted from rigid, exact-match placement to supporting semantic search, AI citation, and user intent optimization.
How Keywords and SEO Are Changing in 2027
• Foundation First: Traditional SEO mechanics—such as clean technical architecture, proper indexing, mobile optimization, site speed, and structured data—remain essential because AI models like Google’s AI Overviews, Gemini, ChatGPT, and Perplexity still crawl and rely on trustworthy, accessible websites.
• From Keywords to Intent: Search queries have grown significantly longer and more conversational as users interact with AI modes and voice search. Instead of targeting isolated “commodity keywords,” successful strategies target the broader intent, questions, and problem-solving journeys behind a search.
• Generative Engine Optimization (GEO): Content must now be structured for machine extraction rather than just human reading. Using clear headers, bullet points (one fact per bullet), and structured data (schema markup) helps AI tools lift your information directly into synthesized answers.
• Topical Authority and E-E-A-T: Search engines and AI models evaluate your entire domain for Experience, Expertise, Authoritativeness, and Trustworthiness. Deep topic clusters, original data, industry mentions, and brand visibility carry far more weight than repetitive keyword stuffing.
• The Rise of Zero-Click Searches: With over 80% of searches projected to resolve without an external click, success is less about chasing raw organic traffic volume and more about brand presence, being cited inside AI summaries, and capturing bottom-of-the-funnel commercial intent.
The Future of Web Development at Innisfree
Time To Get “Chatty” with AI
Our rollout will be thoughtful and property-specific, with each chatbot shaped around the questions guests actually ask and the details that make each hotel unique. From finding useful information to exploring services and amenities, guests will have an easy way to get clear answers whenever they need them. We’ll keep refining the experience over time so it feels helpful, familiar, and in tune with each property’s approach to hospitality.
The Innisfree Marketing Web Team
As always, the web development team is here for all of your needs. We strive to maintain a communicative relationship with all properties, and we strive to make turn-around times short and sweet.
